Colombian Air Force — Reconnaissance Drone (NDA Project)

Industrial Design & Prototyping Lead | Premium 3D SAS (Colombia)
NDA-Protected Project — Only Public-Safe Details Included

Overview

One of the most challenging and technically demanding projects I contributed to at Premium 3D SAS involved a collaboration with the Colombian Air Force on the development of a reconnaissance drone prototype.

Due to strict confidentiality and national security protocols, the technical specifications, geometry, materials, functionality, testing parameters, and operational details of this project are fully protected under a binding NDA.

What I can share is the nature of my contribution:
bringing precision 3D design, advanced prototyping methods, and rapid iteration capabilities to a high-stakes aerospace environment.

It was a project where design, engineering, and responsibility merged into one and where there was absolutely no margin for error.”

Context (Public-Safe)

The Air Force required development support for a next-generation reconnaissance drone.
My company, Premium 3D SAS, was selected to assist with early-stage prototyping, structural components, and rapid design iterations, using high-precision resin technologies and engineering-grade workflows.

This was not consumer-level printing.
It demanded:

  • functional reliability.
  • technical discipline.
  • precise tolerances.
  • and the ability to iterate quickly based on evolving requirements.

This collaboration expanded Premium 3D SAS into aerospace prototyping, a field normally reserved for large engineering firms.

My Role (NDA-Compliant Summary)

Within the strict boundaries of the NDA, my responsibilities included:

  • contributing to the design and development of specific drone components.
  • engineering forms for aerodynamic and structural purposes.
  • producing high-precision resin prototypes.
  • iterating rapidly based on feedback cycles.
  • and ensuring dimensional accuracy and functionality at every step.

All work was performed under direct coordination with Air Force engineers, following their guidelines, constraints, and confidentiality protocols.

Process Highlights (High-Level Only)

  • Applied industrial design principles to aerospace-focused geometries.
  • Used advanced resin printing techniques to fabricate rigid, lightweight structures.
  • Executed multiple rapid-iteration prototypes for testing and evaluation.
  • Delivered components with strict tolerances and consistent repeatability.
  • Followed all confidentiality, security and operational procedures required by the Air Force.

Impact

This project was a milestone in the evolution of Premium 3D SAS.
It proved that our smart 3D factory model could adapt to:

  • high-pressure environments.
  • advanced engineering contexts.
  • government-level confidentiality.
  • and aerospace-grade expectations.

It reinforced one of my core strengths as a builder: I can adapt to any problem, any industry, any constraint.”

This collaboration prepared me to work in multidisciplinary, mission-critical environments, a mindset I carry into every venture I build today.

Disclaimer

⚠️ All sensitive information, technical details, specifications, images, and internal processes are intentionally omitted due to a strict NDA with the Colombian Air Force. Only broad, publicly safe summaries are disclosed.
